75-Year-Old Lower Nazareth Man Accidentally Crashes Truck into Wegmans

Five employees received minor cuts and bruises. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

A 75-year-old man accidentally drove his F-150 pickup truck through a window at in Lower Nazareth Township earlier this afternoon, according to .

Five employees who were having lunch received minor cuts and bruises.  They were treated and released, according to police.

Police say James Love of the 500 block of Country Club Road in Lower Nazareth, pulled into a parking spot that faced the building.  He then pushed the accelerator instead of the break and drove his truck through a large window.

“The entire truck was about 20 feet inside of the store,” said Roy Seiple, chief of police.  “We were very, very lucky that nobody was seriously injured."

According to Seiple, the store did not sustain any structural damage and remains open.

Palmer Township and fire departments responded to the accident, in addition to Bethlehem Township and Hecktown EMS.

Two detectives, who were having lunch at the grocery store, also assisted, according to Seiple.

No charges will be filed against James.
