Five Things to Know This Week

With the holiday past us and the work week ahead, here are five things that are of local importance this week:

1. The Easton Area School District and its offices are closed today due to the snow and ice. Forecasters predict the weather will turn over to rain and then subside by afternoon. 

2. The Waldenbooks in Palmer Park Mall is set to close this Saturday. The book store will be replaced by Read Green Books, a second-hand bookstore based in Allentown. Read Green Books hopes to be up and running in the mall by April. 

3. The Forks Township Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on the proposed draft ordinance for the Recreation Board on Thursday at 6:30pm in the Forks Township Municipal Building, 1606 Sullivan Trail.

4. The Forks Township Board of Supervisors will hold their regular meeting Thursday at 7:30pm in the Forks Township Municipal Building, 1606 Sullivan Trail.

5. The Palmer Township Recreation Board will meet tonight at 7:30pm in the Palmer Memorial Library, 1 Weller Place, in the meeting room.
