Powerball Hits $400M: Buy Tickets in Palmer and Forks

Grab a Powerball ticket while you're out running errands today and get in on a chance to win $400 million.

After two lottery drawings with no winner, Wednesday's Powerball has climbed to $400 million.

The odds of winning are 1 in 175 million, meaning you're more likely to have identical quadruplets or die from a bee, wasp or hornet sting.

Four-hundred million is a pretty staggering figure, but it's not the largest Powerball on record.

That honor goes to the $600 million drawing in May, won by Florida resident Gloria Mackenize. After taking a lump sum payout and paying taxes, she took home roughly $270 million.

No one close to home has been that lucky (yet), although a Wilson gas station did sell a $1 million lottery ticket earlier this year.
