The Search Begins to Replace Palmer Township Manager
Davison Group has been hired to aid in search

The search is on now that Palmer Township Manager Robert Anckaitis has announced his retirement from his position after 11 years of service.
On Monday, the township Board of Supervisors voted unanimously in favor of hiring The Davison Group of Mechanicsburg.
The group will be paid $7,200 to help in the hiring process for the township manager.

This is not the first time the municipality has worked with the company. It helped in the hiring process of Anckaitis in 1999.
Requirements for the position include five years of business experience, plus bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree are required. Plans are to have advertisements placed in local newspapers, the municipal website and internet-job boards in order to receive all resumes by March 28.

“I don’t think we’re going to handle 70-80 applications,” said Supervisor David Colver who anticipates a large number of applicants for the position.
The hope is to have resumes received in order to find qualified candidates to present to the Board of Supervisors for interviewing within the first two weeks of April. The board would then interview the finalist and decide on a final candidate.
“That would give them (the candidate) three maybe four weeks with Bob,” said Colver.
That candidate could begin working as soon as May. The hope is to have that person trained and up to speed before Anckaitis leaves his position. He has told supervisors he would like to leave as of June 1.
