Voter Turnout Low in Forks Township

Less than 20 percent of registered voters in Forks Township came out to cast their ballots in Tuesday’s municipal primary elections.

Although the four-region township has 10,216 registered voters, less than 20 percent came out to cast ballots, according to figures compiled by the Northampton County Board of Elections.

Eastern Region 1

Total Registered: 2,687

Votes cast:  535 (19.91%)

Eastern Region 2

Total Registered: 2,849

Votes cast: 481 (16.88%)

Western Region 1

Total Registered: 1,803

Votes cast:  323 (17.91%)

Western Region 2

Total Registered: 2,877

Votes cast: 467 (16.55%)
