Garlic Fest, CIT Art Show Coming Saturday

It's a pretty hectic weekend in the Easton area, mostly due to one thing: garlic.

Easton Garlic Fest returns Saturday and Sunday for its 11th year, with dozens of foods vendors and restaurants offering garlic-themed products and dishes.

There'll be live music, chef demonstrations, and a cook-off featuring the mayors of Easton, Bethlehem and Allentown. You'll get a chance to sample garlic themed dinners and even garlic themed desserts.

The festival, which typically draws thousands of people, runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days in and around Centre Square.

Also this weekend:

• The Career Institute of Technology holds an arts/craft show Saturday at 9 a.m. at its campus at 5335 Kesslersville Rd. While that's happening, the EAHS Vietnam Memorial is holding a car show on CIT grounds off of Klein Road. 
• Haunted Easton begins the first of four weekends Halloween events with Haunted Movie night at Two Rivers Brewing. The evening begins with cocktails at 8 p.m. At 9 p.m., find out what paranormal investigators found when they looked at the restaurant. Then at 10 p.m., a classic horror movie. (There's a $5 suggested donation at the door.)
• Jack Hanna's Into the Wild takes the stage at the State Theatre Sunday at 2 p.m. 
• Stinky and the Spuds play Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at ConneXions.
• The Sigal Museum holds an opening reception for Gettysburg's Ghosts, an exhibit featuring Chris Damiano's series of graphite illustrations Sunday at 2 p.m. Admission is free.
• Ride the Josiah White II, the National Canal Museum's mule-drawn canal boat, Saturday at Hugh Moore Park.
