Performances, books and fishing activities on tap

Here’s a list of some events going on this weekend in Palmer and Forks townships:

At Forks Elementary School, 1709 Richmond Road, second graders will host a concert for parents at 1pm today.

The Forks Area Arts Society will hold its monthly “First Friday” event at 6 tonight at the ArtsQuest Banana Factory in Bethlehem. Admission is $4 and includes two-drink coupons (wine or beer). Carpool is available to the location at the Forks Community Center.

Trout Fishing Season begins tomorrow. The weather calls for sun and clouds with temperatures in the high 40s.

A pancakes and sausage breakfast to benefit the Palmer Kiwanis Club will be held from 7:30am to 11am Saturday at the Easton Area High School, 2601 William Penn Highway. Costs for the event are $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 3 to 12 and free for children under age 3. There will also be a special appearance by the Easter Bunny.

The Young Adult book group will meet at 2pm Saturday at the Palmer Memorial Library, 1 Weller Place, to discuss “The Mysterious Benedict Society” by Trenton Lee Stewart.  Students grades 6 and up are welcome to attend.
