  1. Nearly 100 shots were fired, injuring five people in a Haddington drive-by. Two victims were shot in the head and have been listed in extremely critical condition. Several men in a white SUV fired their weapons and attempted to drive away before crashing the car. They were then apprehended by police. (WGAL Susquehanna Valley Pa.)
  2. Philadelphia police are seeking the public's help in reuniting an unidentified crash victim with her family. The victim just awoke from a two-week coma at Albert Einstein Medical Center. She was struck by a driver around 4:35 a.m. on Jul. 25. Any information can be provided to Northeast Detectives at 215-686-3153. (Daily Voice)
  3. Philly public schools are dropping their writing sample requirement and adding standardized tests back to the selective admissions process. Superintendent Tony B. Watlington Sr. said, โ€œWe realize that itโ€™s just one test score achieved on one day. Multiple measures of student performance are always preferable.โ€ Those measures of a student include grades, attendance, and test scores. This yearโ€™s application process, which opens on Sep. 16 and closes on Nov. 4., will also include adjustments for the impact of COVID-19 on students' education. (WHYY)
