  1. A 14-hour barricade in Philadelphia ended with two SWAT officers and the suspect, identified as Steven Robbins, being shot. Police were called to the scene after reports of a man with a gun. The SWAT team negotiated with Robbins but lost communication with him during the night leading to the shootout. (ABC 6 News)
  2. A Philadelphia home care agency and its owner, Sara Tucker, are required to pay over $400,000 in penalties including back wages and liquidated damages to 55 employees, according to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division. An investigation found that Alma Conway Home Care LLC and Tucker paid workers a flat rate for all hours worked, denying them overtime rates. (Your Erie News)
  3. Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Cristian Pache was placed on the 10-day injured list with a torn meniscus in his right knee, requiring surgery. There is currently no timeline for his return. The Phillies recalled outfielder Dalton Guthrie from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to fill his roster spot. (Fox 29 News)

  • Runners found themselves in the middle of a downpour Sunday during the 43rd Independence Blue Cross Shield Broad Street Run. Raymond Magut, a 25-year-old originally from Kenya and currently residing in Texas, set a new overall course record by finishing the race in 45:13 and becoming the first to cross the finish line. Over 28,000 runners showed up to participate in the race. (The Philadelphia Inquirer)
  • Dave and Buster's in Philadelphia is hosting a weekly trivia night called "Geeks Who Drink." The event covers a wide range of topics, with seven rounds of eight questions each. Teams of up to six players can compete for prizes, and the event takes place every Tuesday until Jun. 27. (Patch)
