  1. Three people are dead and 11 are injured after a mass shooting in Philadelphia on Saturday night. According to reports, the Philadelphia Police Department responded to the incident near Third and South Streets, in which multiple shooters fired into the crowd. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 215-686-8477. (Philadelphia Patch)
  2. After a recent early dismissal due to high temperatures, the School District of Philadelphia has updated its protocols for extreme heat for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year. According to the district, it will begin to monitor the temperature inside each school on days when outside temperatures are forecasted to reach 85 degrees or higher, or when a heat index of 90 or higher is projected for one or more days. If temperatures within the school buildings reach 90 degrees or higher, the district will determine whether to utilize virtual learning or take other protective measures for the day. (CBS Philly)
  3. The Philadelphia Zoo's popular Summer Ale Fest will return next month. On Jul. 16 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., visitors can enjoy beer from over 100 craft breweries, as well as good eats from local food trucks, while exploring the Zoo grounds.
