  1. On Thursday, the City Council unanimously passed an ordinance expanding regulations for inspections for asbestos and other property-related hazards across Philadelphia public schools. Originally introduced in September 2021, the ordinance was stalled in Council as lawmakers determined whether to include mold testing standards. The School District of Philadelphia has faced complaints regarding the conditions of its buildings, especially as students returned to in-person instruction last fall. (PhillyVoice.com)
  2. Philadelphia's first-ever Topgolf location opened its doors on Friday. Previously, Philly residents had to cross the bridge to New Jersey to enjoy the electronically-tracked golfing range. Now, golfers of all ages can head to the Philly location right off Roosevelt Boulevard and enjoy multiple bars and over 100 hitting bays. (CBS Philly)
  3. A double shooting in West Philadelphia's Carroll Park neighborhood left a 30-year-old man dead and a 17-year-old injured. Shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Friday night, the man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and succumbed to his injuries at an area hospital. The juvenile was also shot in the incident and hospitalized in stable condition. (CBS Philly)
