Here are the top three stories in Philadelphia today:
- Over the weekend, four firefighters and one L&I supervisor were injured and one firefighter was killed during a building collapse in North Philadelphia. The building collapsed on Saturday night at Fairhill following a fire. 51-year-old firefighter, Lt. Sean Williamson, died in the collapse. The fire marshal is investigating the incident. (CBS Philly)
- The Mann Center will be screening popular movies with live orchestral film score performances this summer! There will be four popular films with scores performed by Philly POPS and the Philadelphia Orchestra. The event, "Movies @ The Mann" will begin on Jul. 23 and run through Sept. 29. Ticket prices vary by the individual movie. The event will kick off Jul. 23 with "Harry Potter and The Sorcerers' Stone" performed live in concert with the Philadelphia Orchestra. (PhillyVoice.com)
- The William Way LGBT Community Center will host a public exhibition and memorial ceremony this Saturday to honor Philadelphians lost during the AIDS crisis. The event will happen as the center finishes up its "Remembrance" project in late June. The public memorial titled "Gone and For Ever" will be on display to the public at the Center beginning on Tuesday, Jun. 21 through Saturday, Jun. 25. The exhibit was designed by artist Alex Stadler and the purpose is to provide a memorial to Philadelphians "at risk of being forgotten to history." (PhillyVoice.com)
