Dog Found Shot In Philadelphia Gets Forever Home
Alexia was shot and crawled her way to a Good Samaritan's porch in March. Now, she's got a forever home with a grateful family.

PHILADELPHIA — About two months after being found shot in Philadelphia, a pit bull who fought for her life has a forever home.
Alexia was found on the 1200 block of South 54th Street in the city's Overbrook neighborhood by a Good Samaritan in late March.
Initially, rescuers believed she was hit by a vehicle, but found she was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, the SPCA said.

Based on evidence and blood at the scene, the dog, now named Alexia, was initially shot in the street and crawled to a porch of a nearby home where she was found on the front steps of the property by a Good Samaritan.
She also suffered injuries to her both her muzzle and shoulder areas.

Damage from the gunshot wound was so severe, her front leg will have to be amputated, the SPCA said.
Now, Alexia has a caring family.
Monique Gesualdi and her family have adopted Alexia.
"She is over the moon excited to be home," Gesualdi told Patch in an email. "And we all love her so much."
Gusualdi and her family even had t-shirts made reading "Alexia's Family."
"Alexia is truly an amazing dog," she said.
