Eagles Fan In Wheelchair Gets Lifted Amid Super Bowl LIX Celebrations

PHILADELPHIA — As Philadelphia Eagles fans celebrated the team's Super Bowl LIX victory, one moment captured the spirit of Philly that is often overlooked by the national media.

Yes, some fans went too far, causing damage to public and private property, and some even are accused of assaulting police.

But in a true moment of Brotherly Love, Eagles fans lifted a fellow fan who uses a wheelchair above the crowd so he could get a full view of the celebration.

Video posted to social media shows the fans hoisting their comrade high into the air Sunday night after the Eagles trounced the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22.

Philadelphia Eagles President Don Smolenski during a news conference on Friday's Super Bowl parade called out the moment and asked why that wasn't widely reported.

"We can choose to talk about the few individuals who caused trouble did something not safe," he said. "Or, we can highlight all the people who celebrated and joy and with love."

City officials urged fans to be safe during Friday's parade and ceremony.
