FBI Searching For Suspects In Philadelphia Armored Truck Robbery Attempt

Federal investigators are looking for three people in connection with the attempted armed robbery of an armored truck in Philadelphia.

PHILADELPHIA — The FBI is on the hunt for suspects involved in the attempted armed robbery of an armored truck that took place in Northeast Philadelphia last week.

The attempted robbery happened at about 7:55 a.m. Friday outside the Wawa at 7715 Frankford Ave. in Philadelphia.

Authorities said the men seen above tried to rob a Loomis armored truck.

The suspects, both masked and one armed with a rifle, approached the truck's driver in an attempt to rob him and the truck, federal authorities said.

Investigators said the driver fired five rounds at the suspects before they ran off down an alley behind the Wawa.

According to the FBI, the suspects left a stolen Acura RDX at the scene and got into a stolen red Honda Accord waiting for them in the alley behind the Wawa.

The two suspects and their getaway driver later left the stolen Honda Accord and then fled the area on foot.

Authorities said the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.
