Gun-Toting Cell Phone Store Robber Sought By Philly Police

Authorities said the man seen here robbed a Cricket Wireless store on Jan. 12. They said it's the second time he's robbed the same store.

PHILADELPHIA — Police in Philadelphia are asking for help finding a man they said robbed the same cell phone store twice in about a month's time.

At about 12:26 p.m. Jan. 12, a gunpoint robbery occurred at Cricket Wireless, 200 W. Chelten Ave., police said.

Video surveillance from the store and street cameras show a dark-colored Nissan SUV parking behind the store.

The suspect got out, walked to the front, and went inside.

Police said he robbed the store at gunpoint, left out the back door, got into his car and pulled off.

The vehicle was last seen at Pulaski and Coulter avenues.

Police said the same man is a suspect for a gun point robbery at the same store on Dec. 4, 2024.

The suspect is described as a black male who was wearing black jeans, heavy jacket, gloves, and boots. He was also carrying a large backpack with a white tag on the back.

Police said the vehicle had damage to the back passenger wheel well.
