Harrowgate's Super Foodtown of I Street Supports Local Families

November 26, 2025 (Philadelphia, PA) - With Thanksgiving just around the corner, Super Foodtown of I Street came through in a big way for local families. When the Office of Councilmember Dr. Nina Ahmad found itself in need of ten additional turkeys for holiday meal baskets, Store Manager Carlos Ubiera stepped up without hesitation, donating all ten on the spot.

Carlos and Dr. Ahmad first connected during the recent grand opening of Super Foodtown at Harrowgate Plaza, where Carlos expressed his commitment to supporting the surrounding community. That promise became reality this week as the store moved quickly to help ensure families would have a full Thanksgiving table.

The Councilmember’s office sent staff to the supermarket to pick up the donation, and the team expressed deep appreciation for Super Foodtown’s generosity and responsiveness, especially on such short notice.
