PHILADELPHIA, PA — It will be a wet turkey day in Eastern Pennsylvania, forecasters predict.
According to the National Weather Service, rain will move into the area overnight and continue through most of the day Thursday.
"This will mostly be a rain event for our area, except for the Poconos which may begin as snow/wintry mix," the National Weather Service said in a Wednesday update.

The Philadelphia region can expect rain to start after midnight. The heaviest of the storm will move through until about noon, but some precipitation will linger through the evening.
Some snow is possible with this system, but not in the Philadelphia region.

According to AccuWeather: "In the Northeast, moderate to heavy snowfall is most likely over northern New England and the higher elevations in central New England. In between, over Pennsylvania and New York state, the accumulating snow may tend to be fragmented--favoring the higher elevations."
The sun will return on Friday, with temperatures in the mid to upper 40s. Temperatures will plunge to the 20s overnight, and the daytime high on Saturday will linger in the 30s.

Tonight: Rain likely, mainly after 4 am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Thanksgiving Day: Rain, mainly before 1 pm. High near 50. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 35. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 47. West wind 5 to 10 mph.
Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 29.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 39.
Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 26.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 38.
