- The Philadelphia City Council introduced a resolution seeking funding through the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to address pressing issues in Kensington. Council members are calling the situation a โhumanitarian emergencyโ and urged Mayor Jim Kenney and Gov. Wolf to declare a state of emergency. - In an effort to raise money for lung cancer research, 600 participants climbed to the top of Three Logan Square on Saturday morning. The event included the presentation of an award in honor of Philadelphia Fire Department Batallion Chief John Narkin, who is facing his own fight with lung cancer. (CBS Philly)
- After an hour-long standoff, Philadelphia police arrested one of a group of suspects responsible for the shooting of an 18-year-old victim. The shooting took place at 60th and Clifford Streets in Overbrook on Saturday evening and the standoff followed shortly after. (CBS Philly)
