Man Charged After Shooting Wife In Philadelphia: Authorities
Fredrick Arnold, 75, of Philadelphia, has been charged with attempted murder and more crimes in connection with his wife's Sunday shooting.
PHILADELPHIA — Authorities in Philadelphia have filed attempted murder and more charges against a man they said shot his wife Sunday night.
Fredrick Arnold, 75, of Philadelphia, has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, a firearm violation, terroristic threats, and related crimes, according to the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office.
The charges stem from a Sunday shooting on the 1300 Block of Hale Street in the Oxford Circle section of Philadelphia.

Police were called to a residence on that block at about 11 p.m. Sunday for a report of a woman shot and a person with a gun.
When police showed up, Arnold opened the door with a firearm in his hand, the DA's office said.

Arnold was detained and the victim, his wife, was found suffering from multiple gun shot wounds to the face and head.
She was taken to Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital, where she was placed in critical, but stable, condition.
The case has been specially assigned and will be prosecuted with vigor and determination by Assistant District Attorney Allison Christian of the DAO's Family Violence & Sexual Assault Unit.
At the arraignment hearing, the DA's office requested $2 million cash bail and a Stay-Away-Order.
The court set cash bail at $1.5 million. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 21.
