Man Sought In Deadly Tuesday Shooting: Philadelphia Police

Elijah Jones, 19, of the 2100 block of North 32nd Street, is sought in connection with the deadly shooting of Reginald H. Bates Tuesday.

PHILADELPHIA — Authorities in Philadelphia are asking for help finding a man they said fatally shot another man Tuesday morning in Strawberry Mansion.

Elijah Jones, 19, is wanted in connection with the killing of 46-year-old Reginald Bates.

Bates was found by police suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest at about 12:26 a.m. Tuesday at a property on the 2100 block of North 32nd Street.

He was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 12:47 a.m.

Police said Jones lives on that same block and was last seen leaving the property wearing all-black clothing and a camouflage face mask.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Jones is urged to contact the Homicide Unit or call 911.

Police are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Jones.
