Here are the top three stories today in Philadelphia:
- The owners of the Philadelphia 76ers announced plans to build a new arena in Center City Philadelphia on Thursday morning. The Sixers organization will move from its current home in South Philly at the Wells Fargo Center to a new arena in the Fashion District on 10th and 11th Market Street, where the former Gallery was located. 76 Place will be privately funded and is slated to be completed in 2031. - On Wednesday afternoon, a gunman was caught on camera opening fire at someone in a West Philadelphia grocery store. A man ran into a corner store at 41st Street and Lancaster Avenue after being shot at on the street. The gunman opened fire in the store but hit no bystanders. Police are currently searching for the shooter who got away on foot. (FOX 29 Philadelphia)
- A teenager was arrested after they crashed a stolen car into a home in Northeast Philadelphia. The unidentified 15-year-old jumped a curb in a stolen Toyota Camry at the intersection of Welsh Road and Dewees Street, where the vehicle crashed through the front of two twin homes. No one was injured in the crash and the teenager was arrested on site. (CBS Philly)

- Thursday was the hottest and most humid day of the heat wave in Philadelphia so far. Conditions will be slightly less humid due to lower dewpoints today, but it will still be hot with temps in the 90s. Temps and heat indices will increase again into the weekend.
