New Mark Wahlberg Movie Seeking Philly-Area Extras
Philadelphia-area residents 18 and older are needed to appear as basketball fans in a new Apple Studios movie starring Mark Wahlberg.

PHILADELPHIA — Do you live in the Philadelphia area and want to be in a movie?
Well, then you'll want to apply to be an extra in a Mark Wahlberg-led Apple Studios movie that is shooting locally.
The new movie, which is being referred to as both "Weekend Warriors" and "Cheesesteak" in various listings, stars Mark Wahlberg and Vera Farmiga, is produced partially by LeBron James, and is being written and directed by Stephen Chbosky, of "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" and " Dear Evan Hansen" fame.

According to casting company Backstage, sought for the new flick are Philadelphia area residents 18 and older to appear as basketball fans.
The casting call is looking for people of all ethnicities and gender identities, who are willing to play a basketball fan at a game.

Pay is $17.50 an hour, with 8 hours of work, for a total payout of $140.

According to the listing, the movie is titled "Cheesesteak." But, the movie is most likely to be titled "Weekend Warriors."
"Weekend Warriors" is based on the German comedy-drama film "Weekend Rebels," which is about the journey of a father and his son who has autism to find the boy's favorite soccer team by visiting all 56 teams in their respective stadiums.
According to Deadline, Chbosky's version changed soccer to basketball.
CBS News reported Wahlberg stars as a long-haul trucker who takes his son on the autism spectrum to see all the NBA arenas. Indie DesRoches stars as the son.
It's unclear when the movie will release.
