Here are the top three stories today in Philadelphia:

  1. A man in North Philadelphia was fatally shot on Tuesday night. Police responded to reports of gunshots on the 100 block of West Indiana Avenue and found a 47-year-old man on the ground with gunshot wounds to the back and arm. No arrests were made and the man was pronounced at a local hospital. (FOX 29 Philadelphia)
  2. Wawa and the City of Philadelphia announced their plans for the annual "Wawa Welcome America," a 16-day event. Celebrations start on Monday, Jun. 19 with a Juneteenth Block Party at the African American Museum. The festivities conclude with the annual Wawa Welcome America July 4th Concert on the Parkway, headlined by Jason Derulo. (NBC 10 Philadelphia)
  3. Philadelphia will be giving more money to violence prevention groups, through the City of Philadelphia’s Targeted Community Investment Grant. The grant announced its fifth round of funding, but earlier grantees still haven't been paid. Many of the nonprofits who were selected for the last round of TCIG awards have said the program has been plagued with difficulties and delays in getting their funding. (The Philadelphia Tribune)
