  1. The Philadelphia Ballet is preparing for a remodel of its dance studio and performance space on North Broad Street. The Center for Dance will add 43,000 square feet to the current building. The project, which totals around $34 million, aims to put Philly dance on par with companies in other major American cities. (PhillyVoice.com)
  2. Workers in the School District of Philadelphia will hold a strike vote amid contract negotiations and safety concerns. The employees will vote today on whether they will go on strike since safety demands have not been met by district officials. The workers involved include bus drivers, mechanics, attendants, building cleaners, engineers, and trades workers, who number around 2,000. (FOX 29 Philadelphia)
  3. $1.3 million worth of cocaine was seized from a plane at Philadelphia International Airport. Over 40 pounds of cocaine were found hidden inside an aircraft arriving from the Dominican Republic last Friday. The 16 brick-shaped objects filled with white powder were hidden under a blanket.
