- A community darkroom in Kensington is aiming to make photography more accessible. The Halide Project has opened the city's only community darkroom, which provides film photographers with time, space, and resources. Funding for the project was provided by a grant from the Penn Treaty Special Services District. Co-founder Dale Rio said, "The greater Philadelphia area has a vibrant and robust arts scene, but resource availability and accessibility doesn't always feel on par with the needs of the community." (PhillyVoice.com)
- A man who was shot in the chest in Philadelphia drove himself to a Wawa store and went inside before being rushed to a hospital. On late Wednesday night, officers found the 39-year-old victim bleeding inside the Wawa after someone else called 911. The victim was listed in critical condition due to wounds in the chest, torso, and both arms. (NBC 10 Philadelphia)
- A Philadelphia Police Department officer shot a dog that was attacking its owners on Thursday around 1:00 a.m. The dog had locked onto its owner's arm and would not let go, even as it was being hit with a baseball bat. The man and his wife were taken to the hospital for their bite wounds and the dog was also taken into medical care. (Philadelphia Patch)
