- Yesterday, one person was killed and four were injured in a broad daylight shooting. Around 10:00 a.m., a 35-year-old man was shot and pronounced dead at the 6000 block of North Beechwood Street. Following the shooting, at around noon, police arrived at a quadruple shooting on G Street and Allegheny Avenue in Kensington. A 32-year-old man, a 30-year-old man, an 18-year-old woman, and a 16-year-old girl all faced gunshot wounds. Four schools were put on lockdown due to these incidents. No arrests have been made yet as of Tuesday evening and the investigation is still ongoing. (WPVI-TV)
- Health officials in Philadelphia are once again encouraging people to wear masks indoors, due to a rise in coronavirus cases. Health Commissioner Dr. Cheryl Bettigole urges people to wear their face coverings in an effort to keep the city safe and healthy. Data came out on Monday that reports that in the past two weeks, 9.4 percent of COVID-19 tests in Philadelphia have come back positive. (Philadelphia Patch)
- Contrary to initial reports, two young girls were not abducted on Monday night in Strawberry Mansion. The girls initially had stated that they were lured into a white van and after striking one of the people in the van, they were released. According to CBS3, the 11- and 12-year-old girls have confirmed that the abduction and escape did not actually occur. (CBS Philly)
