PHILADELPHIA — Emmy-award winning writer, actor, and showrunner Quinta Brunson is Philly through and through.

The West Philadelphia native, who attended Charter High School for Architecture & Design and Temple University before creating the hit ABC series "Abbott Elementary," is now looking to get Philly students out of classrooms and into real world settings for new learning experiences.

“Field trips were some of the most memorable parts of my own education growing up in Philadelphia," Brunson said in a statement. "They opened my world, sparked my creativity, and helped me imagine a future beyond what I saw every day. Going somewhere new shows you that the world is bigger and more exciting than you believe, and it can shape what you come to see as achievable."

According to the fund's website, it aims to make "learning meaningful and memorable for over 117,000 children in Philadelphia’s traditional public schools."

"Thanks to this new fund, students will embark on adventures – from exploring nearly 200 museums and national landmarks to enjoying over 100 parks, discovery centers and venues across the city – all at no cost," the website reads.
