Here are the top stories in Philadelphia today:
- On Tuesday morning, the Philadelphia District Schools were dismissed early due to heat. Temperatures got as high as 96 degrees with high humidity. Officials will monitor heat conditions to make a decision regarding future cancelations for the week, however, temperatures are not expected to be higher than they were yesterday. (CBS Philly)
- During a Monday night shooting, a man was killed and a woman was injured in the crossfire. The shooting occurred near 41st and Parrish around 11:00 p.m. on Memorial Day. The police reported that the shooting involved two men firing at each other. The other man was injured in the shooting and taken to a local hospital. (NBC 10 Philadelphia)
- Philadelphia Police are cracking down on illegal ATVs and dirt bikes being driven on city streets. They have been ticketing those who are riding the vehicles and intercepting them. The increased crackdowns on these vehicles come after two separate incidents of fatalities in crashes over a one-week span. (CBS Philly)
