Here are the top three stories in Philadelphia today:

  1. SEPTAโ€™s new stop extending the Media/Elwyn Regional Rail Line will be known as the Wawa Station. The 10-year, $5.4 million naming-rights agreement will help SEPTA bounce back from a plunge in ridership during the pandemic. The Regional Rail line will also be renamed Media/Wawa to reflect the new endpoint. Wawa Station opens for service next month. (Philly Inquirer)
  2. Alec Aposotlou, wanted for more than 80 storage units burglaries across Philadelphia and Bucks County, has been arrested. Police say Aposotlou "victimized numerous persons who had their personal effects stolen from storage facilities." Aposotlou was charged with several burglaries and related charges with more charges pending in the investigation. He also has active burglary and DUI warrants out of Bensalem. (FOX 29 Philadelphia)
  3. Police are currently searching for a suspect accused of robbing and injuring a 70-year-old man in North Philadelphia. On Jul. 15 at 2:20 p.m., the suspect approached the victim inside of a store, grabbed him, and took $75 from his hands. The elderly man also fell and fractured his hip in the altercation. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 215-686-8477. (FOX 29 Philadelphia)
