SWAT Nabs Teen In Double Shooting That Killed Boy: Philadelphia Police

Sahhir Mouzon, 17, is charged with murder and more in connection with a shooting that killed a boy, 16, and hurt an 18-year-old woman.

PHILADELPHIA — A double shooting that left one teen dead and another hurt ended with a third teen being charged with murder and related crimes.

According to Philadelphia Police, Xzavier Gregory, 16, was fatally shot Sunday afternoon. An 18-year-old woman, was also hurt in the shooting.

SWAT officers and homicide detectives Monday took Sahhir Mouzon, 17, into custody in connection with the double shooting.

Police were called to the intersection of Teesdale and Frontenac streets at 3:54 p.m. Sunday for a shooting.

There, the found Gregory unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Gregory was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:12 p.m.

Authorities said the 18-year-old was found at a laundromat on the 1700 block of Glendale Avenue with a gunshot wound to her ankle. The girl, whose name was not provided by police, was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in stable condition.

Then at about 6 a.m. Monday, authorities took Mouzon, of the 1800 block of Corlies Street, into custody.

He has been charged with murder, recklessly endangering another person, and firearm violations, police said.

Others who were present at the time of Mouzon's arrest were taken to the Homicide Unit for questioning regarding their possible involvement. However, police said no charges have been filed against anyone else at this time.
