Weekend Events Will Affect Traffic In Philadelphia
The Rocky Run, the Philadelphia Veterans Parade, and the Marine Corps Birthday Block Party will all have impacts on traffic in the city.

PHILADELPHIA — Three events taking place over the weekend and early next week will have impacts on traffic in Philadelphia.
Saturday will see the Rocky Run, Sunday the Philadelphia Veterans Parade, and Monday the Marine Corps Birthday Block Party.
These events will force roads to close in the Center City area.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area by using alternate routes and allow for extra driving time in areas near the events.

Saturday
Rocky Run 5K and 10 Mile Run/Walk
The Rocky Run 5K, 10 Mile, and 13.1 Italian Stallion Challenge is an opportunity for participants to channel their inner Rocky and show the world that they can go the distance.
The race will start on Benjamin Franklin Parkway in front of the Philadelphia Art Museum and finish in front of the Philadelphia Art Museum. Participants will not ascend the museum's stairs as part of the race.
The 5K begins at 7 a.m. and the 10 Mile begins at 8 a.m.
The Rocky Run is a rain-or-shine event. In the event of inclement weather or other conditions that may affect the safety and health of participants, race officials reserve the right to delay, postpone, or cancel the race.

Road Closures
The following streets will be closed beginning at 3 a.m. on Saturday:
- 2200-2400 Benjamin Franklin Parkway between 22nd Street and Eakins Oval
- Spring Garden Street between Pennsylvania Avenue and 24th Street
- MLK Drive between Eakins Oval and Falls Bridge
The following streets will be closed beginning at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday:
- Kelly Drive between Eakins Oval and Brewery Hill Drive
- Strawberry Mansion Bridge
- Sweet Briar Drive between Lansdowne Drive and MLK Drive
- Greenland Drive between MLK Bridge and Chamounix Drive
- Ford Road between Chamounix Drive and Greenland Drive
- Chamounix Drive between Ford Road and Greenland Drive
All streets, except for Eakins Oval and MLK Drive, are scheduled to be reopened no later than noon on Saturday. Eakins Oval will be fully open to traffic by 2 p.m.
MLK Drive will remain closed as part of its regular weekend closure for recreation schedule.
Public Transportation
SEPTA Bus Routes 7, 32, 38, 43, 48 and 49 will be detoured from their normal routes at 5 a.m. on through about 4 p.m. Detours will be posted, and specific route changes are available on the System Status Page online here.
Sunday
The 11th Annual Philadelphia Veterans Parade will kick off at noon on Sunday, and feature more than 100 organizations, over 4,000 participants, and over 50 Veteran Service Organizations.
The parade begins at 21st and Benjamin Franklin Parkway, continues up the Parkway and ends just past the Philadelphia Art Museum at Eakins Oval, where the Veterans Festival will take place and continue until 4 p.m.
The Veterans Festival is a family-friendly event featuring food trucks, live music, and resources, including job recruitment, healthcare providers, educational opportunities, financial assistance, and workshops.
The parade will be broadcast live on 6ABC, 6abc.com, and the 6abc Mobile App from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Road Closures
The following streets will be closed beginning at 6 a.m. on Sunday until 5 p.m.:
- Eakins Oval
The following streets will be closed beginning at 8 a.m. on Sunday for the parade starting area:
- Benjamin Franklin Parkway between 18th Street and 21st Street
The following streets will be closed beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday and will reopen when the parade concludes:
- Benjamin Franklin Parkway between 21st Street and Eakins Oval (Parade will go around the north side of Eakins Oval and end on the south side)
Parking Restrictions
The above-listed streets will be posted as “Temporary No Parking” zones on Sunday, November 9. Motorists must adhere to “Temporary No Parking” signs. Vehicles parked in these locations during posted hours will be relocated. If you believe your car has been relocated, call the police district of the area where your car was parked.
Additional road closures and parking restrictions may be necessary in the vicinity of the event venue as dictated by conditions. Residents and visitors should always obey posted signs and instructions from the Philadelphia Police Department.

Monday
Marine Corps Birthday BLOCK PARTY at Future Site of The Tun®
Hosted by The Tun Legacy Foundation at the future site of the rebuilt Tun, the 250th birthday block party will feature performances by US Navy/Marine Corps Veteran Dave Bray USA, Marine and comedian Bryson Banks, the American Bombshells. Featured will be guest speakers, 250th birthday celebration, community booths, food trucks and more.
The Marine Corps Birthday Block Party will take place on 2nd Street, between Market Street and Chestnut Street, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information, visit the Tun's website.

Public Safety Information
Throughout the weekend events, the City will provide law enforcement support, traffic control, and emergency medical services for the events and in the surrounding vicinity.
Attendees should never leave bags or other items unattended. In the event of an emergency or to report a suspicious person, activity, or item (backpack, package, container, etc.), notify a police officer immediately or call 911. Do not try to open, move, cover or touch a suspicious item.
