Here are the top three stories today in Philadelphia:

  1. The City of Philadelphia Division of Aviation is planning to break ground on a 33-acre Wetlands Mitigation Development Project at a site located within FDR Park in South Philadelphia this month. The site is only 3.5 miles away from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and has been designed to compensate for wetlands and waterway impacts anticipated from the development of the West Cargo Project at PHL. (MyChesCo)
  2. This weekend, a string of violent shootings plagued Philadelphia, resulting in three deaths and 10 injuries. The first and youngest person who was injured over the weekend was a 7-year-old boy who was playing video games in his bedroom on Saturday night. He is reportedly in stable condition. (FOX 29 Philadelphia)
  3. On Saturday, Bernie Sanders rallied with union leaders for workersโ€™ rights in Philadelphia amid a growing, revitalized labor movement. The rally took place at Independence Hall Visitor Center at 3 p.m. and was open to the public. During the rally, Sanders wore a baseball cap of the areaโ€™s Teamsters Local 107. (WHYY)
