Woman Killed In Hit-And-Run While Walking To Work: Philly Police
A 48-year-old woman who was walking to work in West Philly was fatally struck by a speeding vehicle that drove off Thursday morning.
PHILADELPHIA — A woman was fatally struck by a vehicle that drove away from the collision early Thursday morning in Drexel University's campus, Philadelphia Police said.
The deadly incident happened at about 4:17 a.m. on the 3300 block of Market Street, according to police.
Investigators said a silver Chrysler 300 with tinted windows was speeding while heading east on Market around that time.

Police said the driver ignored a red light and struck a 48-year-old woman, later identified as Meaza Brown of the 400 block of West Shunk Street, who was crossing the street in the crosswalk. The driver nearly struck other pedestrians, who police said were walking with Brown on their way to work.
The force of the strike was so hard that Brown was sent several hundred feet down Market Street, police said.

The vehicle kept heading east on Market Street.
Brown was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center with multiple injuries and internal bleeding. She was pronounced dead at 4:59 a.m.
Police said the vehicle believed to have struck Brown was found Thursday morning at 34th and Race Street.
