46 DUI Arrests Over Labor Day Weekend In Chester County: State Police
DUI arrests were down 20% from 2021 during Labor Day holiday sobriety checkpoint detail in Pennsylvania
CHESTER COUNTY - State police arrested 46 motorists for drunken driving in Chester County during the four-day Labor Day weekend sobriety checkpoints detail, according a report available Monday.
The arrests were down 20% from 2021 when there were 58 arrested for drunken driving in Chester County during the holiday weekend.
Troopers set up drunken driving throughout the state on Sept. 2 to 5 as a deterrent as part of a “zero-tolerance enforcement” policy.

Statewide there were six alcohol-related fatalities, according to state police. There were none in Chester County.
Statewide 515 motorists were charged with drunken driving, down 12% from 2021. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is 0.08%.

Troopers issued 214 speeding tickets in Chester County, a 33% reduction over the previous year.
The statistics cover only those incidents investigated by state police, and do not include incidents in which other law enforcement agencies were involved.
The Chester County state police are headquartered in Avondale and Embreville.
DUI offenses can range from a $300 fine with six months of probation to fines of $5,000 with prison sentences up to five years.
