Election 2022: Houlahan Ahead Of Ciarrocchi In Fundraising

Houlahan introduces a bill to improve access to donor breast milk; Ciarrocchi calls for a solutions to Coatesville's school pranks.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA —With 18 days to go until Election Day, Democratic incumbent Chrissy Houlahan is far ahead of her opponent Republican candidate Guy Ciarrocchi in fundraising, according to a campaign finance report provided on the Federal Election Commission website.

Houlahan, who represents the Sixth District, which covers all of Chester County and portions of southeastern Berks County, has a total of $5.7 million in campaign contributions in the bank.

This includes $2.7 million in individual contributions and $11,635 in party contributions.

Houlahan, 55, of Easttown Township is an incumbent who was elected in 2018, taking office in 2019.

Houlahan ran unopposed in the primary.

Ciarrocchi, 57, of Tredyffrin Township, Republican candidate for District 6, has total receipts raised by his committee of $803,099.

Individual contributions are at $563,574 and party contributions are $5,500.

He has $142,508 in the bank and has spent $647,559.

Ciarrocchi won a hard fought primary with four candidates competing for the Republican nomination.

Houlahan highlights

Houlahan said on her website that she has returned $28.3 million in federal funds to the taxpayers. She’s hosted 67 town halls, in which she speaks to constituents and answers questions.
Houlahan, an Air Force veteran, founded For Country, a bipartisan caucus of military veterans who work together on issues of public and national service.
This week, Houlahan introduced the first-ever bipartisan bill in Congress to improve access to donor breast milk, improving child health and combating infant formula.

Houlahan has worked to build relationships with Republican lawmakers. She is the whip of the New Democrat Coalition Inflation Working Group, which has prepared a plan to address inflation.
She also supported a bipartisan bill to force federal agencies to work together to assess the impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on the availability of semiconductor chips.
Houlahan said on June 24 after the decision was reached to overturn Roe v. Wade that she is pro-choice.
"The conversation around reproductive health is extremely personal.”

Ciarrocchi highlights

Ciarrocchi, a former Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry CEO, said inflation is climbing at the highest rate since he was a teenager and questioned why the government and Houlahan have not addressed the issue. He vowed to fix the “mess they created.”
Chiarrocchi said he is running for office to speak out against the ever growing, and out of touch government to restore the promise of America.
"Everything seems to be going in the wrong direction," Ciarrocchi said on his website."

Ciarrocchi said on his facebook page and website: “What is happening in Coatesville is wrong and heartbreaking - and we must find a solution.

Coatesville Area High School has responded to more than a dozen threats of violence, forcing the school to close, cancel activities and dismiss students early. On Thursday, a 17-year-old male student was arrested on charges connected to calling in a false bomb scare Monday, forcing the school to cancel classes for eight to 12 graders on Tuesday.

“As a dad and a softball coach I cannot be silent. This has been ongoing for far too long.
We have to get them into classes safely. And back to sports. Back to Friends. Back to Life. They don’t deserve this tension, anxiety or stress. We must find the answers. Our children deserve no less.”
