PHOENIXVILLE, PA —A Phoenixville man asked borough council for approval to open a “Fun Dungeon: Brewcade & Billiards" which would have pinball, a pool table, and other games at 119 S. Main St.

Clinton S. Weiler asked for conditional use approval required to open the arcade in the basement level of the former Moose Club’s social hall. The building was constructed in 1917.

Following a public hearing, the board tabled a decision until next month’s meeting.

The requirement for approval is that the property does not have an adverse effect on the borough.

“We are looking to open an old-school arcade,” he said, “This will be an additional attraction for the community. It will attract a lot of people to our town.”

The arcade will have a flat fee to play games, and it will be coin operated.

Councilman Richard Kirkner asked for more details on the brewery.

Weiler said he is working with a lawyer to obtain a liquor license.

Kirkner noted if council approves the applicated as stated it may not accommodate a brewery.

Michael Kajak, a borough resident who lives 45 feet from the site, asked if the building would be handicap accessible.

Weiler said a side entrance with a ramp has been installed.
