Infant in Hand, Woman Allegedly Threatened by Knife-Toting Boyfriend
Police say her boyfriend came home drunk and demanded to hold their son.

A 23-year-old Phoenixville man with a history of alcohol arrests allegedly threatened his girlfriend with a hunting knife while she held their infant son, are reporting.
Donnis Rinaldy Orozco-Amores, a resident of the 300 block of Bridge Street, stands charged with two counts terroristic threats, two counts of simple assault, possession of an instrument of crime, and disorderly conduct stemming from the incident.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Orozco-Amores allegedly came home drunk in the early morning hours of August 1 (when police responded to the scene, it was 5 a.m.) and alarmed his girlfriend, 25, when he attempted to pick up their eight-day-old son. The woman later told police she refused to let him hold the baby—on account of his drunkenness—which sparked an apparently heated argument. Fearing for her safety, she called 911.

While she was on a phone with an operator, Orozco-Amores left the room and returned with a four-inch hunting knife, which he pointed at her while speaking in Spanish. At this point, the woman’s mother—who also lives in the residence—stepped between the two.
Orozco-Amores—who’s twice before been charged with public drunkenness in the county—was arrested and arraigned later that morning in district court. He was sent to county jail when he was unable to post $20,000 bail. He faces a preliminary hearing on August 9.
