Open-Air Dining Returns To Phoenixville

PVX Inside Out Open Air Express returns May 26 from 2 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Monday.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA – Phoenixville Borough Council voted unanimously to bring back Open-Air Dining from 2 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Monday, beginning May 26 through Oct. 9th

“What started as a necessity has become a summer tradition that is enjoyed by the whole region,” Council President Jonathan Ewald said during an Oct. 11 council meeting

Ewald said the early decision provides ample time for businesses, nonprofit partners, and event organizers to plan for the 2023 season.

During PVX Inside Out Open Air Experience, Bridge Street will close to vehicular traffic between Starr Street and Main Street, and from Main Street to Gay Street.

Mayor Peter Urscheler approval of 2023’s PXV Inside Out season means that the borough can once again create a safe space for friends and family to be together.

“We look forward to welcoming folks from near and far as they discover what makes our community unique and wonderful,” the mayor said.

Borough Manager E. Jean Krack said the decision was based on numerous surveys over the past few years, continued discussion with downtown businesses, and ongoing dialogue between staff and council.

During the 2022 summer, the open-air experience was well-received by the community, with families and friends gathering to take advantage of the pedestrian-friendly area.

Numerous events were held within the closed streets including Blobfest, Phoenixville Art Street Festival, Pride Fest, Rhythm & Brews, Juneteenth celebration and many more.

On Friday evenings, locals and visitors enjoyed a Summer Music Series, First Friday at the Main and Bridge Street parking lot and weekly exercise classes on Sundays.
