Phoenixviille War Veteran and Great Grandfather Dies at 82
He was the last surviving child of ten siblings

Robert D. Yannick, 82, husband of Blanche S. (Helm) Yannick, of Phoenixville, passed away on Wednesday evening, July 17, 2013, in the Seasons Hospice. Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late James and Anna (Valenteen) Yannick.
Mr. Yannick served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a bottler at Superior Beverage and then in HVAC repair at Superior Industries. He enjoyed building lighthouses and loved gardening but most importantly, he loved entertaining his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Yannick is survived by his children, Deborah, wife of Alan Megargee, of Florida, Joann, wife of Dale McCauley, of Pottstown, Paula, wife of Joseph Walton, of Pottstown, Robert B. Yannick, of Phoenixville and Allen Yannick, of Florida; eight grandchildren, Jason and Brian Megargee, Aaron and Cory McCauley, David and Sarah Yannick and Tori and Garret Walton; and two great granddaughters, Avery and Hailey. He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters, John, Elizabeth, Marie, Bertha, Julia, James, Francis, Theresa and Joseph.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial mass on St. Ann’s Chapel, 604 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, on Thursday, July 25, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Joseph A. Heim, M.M. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s name to the Seasons Hospice Foundation, 700 S. Henderson Road, Suite 225, King of Prussia, PA 19406.
