Phoenixville Fire Department Clears Blaze at Steel Company Site
Responders quickly handled a small fire reported Wednesday at the abandoned pump house once used by the Phoenix Steel Company.

A small fire reported at the abandoned pump house on the grounds of the Phoenix Steel Company was quickly extinguished by the Phoenixville Fire Department Wednesday.
According to the department’s Facebook page, a caller reported the fire Wednesday afternoon. When units arrived at the 200 block of Bridge Street, the resident pointed them to the pump house area.
Mutual aid units established the staging area as Phoenixville firefighters dealt with the blaze. The pump house is the last abandoned building from the Phoenix Iron & Steel Company,

Phoenixville Fire Department and mutual aid units just cleared a small fire at the old pump house on the steel site property. This fire was originally reported as a house fire near the 200 block of Bridge Street, until units arrived and the caller directed them to the area of the pump house. Mutual aid units on the initial assignment staged near the scene. This is the last abandoned building remaining of the old Phoenix Steel Corp.
