Phoenixville Man Arrested for Firing Flare Gun

The Phoenixville Police Department also reports several episodes of public drunkenness in the past two weeks.

A Phoenixville man is free on $70,000 bail following his arrest last weekend for allegedly firing a flare gun along the Schuylkill River Trail.

According to information from the Phoenixville Police Department, an officer on bicycle patrol heard a shot at 12:45 a.m. on April 4. Responding officers saw the 21-year-old defendant walking on the trail and attempted to speak with him. Officers say the man jumped into the French Creek, but was taken into custody after climbing out.

Police say he admitted to firing the flare gun and possessing other prohibited weapons. He was arraigned before Judge Michael Cabry and released on bail later that day.

A 35-year-old man from King of Prussia was arrested for public drunkenness at Bridge Street and Gay Street.

A 30-year-old man from Royersford was arrested for DUI in the 100 block of Church Street.

April 3, 2015: A 53 year old man from Berwyn was cited for public drunkenness after being found lying on the sidewalk in the 300 block of Gay Street.

April 4, 2015: A 33-year-old man from Phoenixville was cited for urinating in public at Gay Street and Hall Street.

An 18-year-old man from Schuylkill Township was arrested for DUI after driving in the 200 Block of Bridge Street with two flat tires. The man was placed in a holding cell.

A 53-year-old man from Berwyn was cited for public drunkenness at the Pickering Creek Inn located at 37 Bridge Street, after falling off a bar stool and struggling with the ambulance staff who responded to assist him.

A 27-year-old male from Malvern was cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct after damaging the nacho cheese machine inside the 7-11 located at 200 Nutt Road.
