Phoenixville Mom Dropped From Bank Robbery Case
Charges have been dismissed against Elizabeth Kenneally after lawyers argued that investigators wrongfully took her statement.
A Phoenixville mother arrested in November for her alleged involvement in three bank robberies after she was reported missing by her family has been dismissed from the case, according to the Associated Press.
The AP reports that federal prosecutors dismissed the charges against Elizabeth Kenneally, 25, after a public defender argued that her statement following the arrest was taken while Kenneally was under the influence of cocaine.
Kenneally and her boyfriend, Christopher LeBlanc, 40, of Norristown, were taken into custody Nov. 4 at a Delaware motel, hours after police said they robbed a Citizens Bank in West Goshen Township.

The pair were also accused of robbing a Citizens Bank in Audubon Township on Oct. 28 and a PNC Bank in East Goshen Township on Oct. 31, for a total of $5,392. LeBlanc has pleaded not guilty. The original indictment said Kenneally drove the getaway car after LeBlanc robbed the grocery store banks.
Kenneally’s family reported her missing in early October 2014, using Facebook and other social media campaigns to get the word out. Before her arrest, Kenneally reached out to local news outlets to claim she was not missing but did not want to reunite with her family.
