Phoenixville Police Lt. Joseph Nemic Graduates FBI National Academy
Police Chief Brian Marshall commended Nemic, noting only 1% of the law enforcement officers nationwide complete the training.

PHOENIXVILLE — Police Lt. Joseph Nemic graduated from the FBI National Academy Class #282 on Thursday,earning a “Yellow Brick” award for completing a 6.1-mile obstacle course trail built by U.S. Marines.
Nemic was one of 254 law enforcement officers who completed a 10-week class at the FBI National Academy, Quantico, Va.
He earned 15 graduate degree credits from the University of Virginia in the master of public safety degree program.

The class included students from 27 countries and representatives from some of the largest police departments in the country including NYPD, Chicago PD, and Los Angeles PD.
Chief Brian Marshall and Lt. Bryan MacIntyre attended the graduation ceremony.

“Only 1% of the law enforcement members in this country have the privilege and honor to attend the world’s best law enforcement training and development leadership school,” said Marshall, who graduated from the program in 2019.
The chief said his goal is to send the entire Phoenixville command staff to the school.
Mayor Peter Urscheler said he and council members are committed to getting the best training for the men and woman on the police force.
“We are incredibly proud of Lieutenant Joe Nemic for successfully completing the FBI Academy program,” the mayor said. “He has demonstrated his commitment to the residents of Phoenixville throughout his career.”
Under former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, the academy was created in 1935 to promote the standardization and professionalism of police departments throughout the country.
