Phoenixville, PA – Phoenixville's vibrant bar and restaurant scene has a new reason to celebrate: local bartender Celso Lopez-Quintero is making waves in the prestigious 2023 Bar Boss Competition. He’s in the top 1% of contestants, currently fighting for the top spot in the Quarter Finals so he can move on to the Semi-Finals. What's at stake? A $10,000 prize, bragging rights and the cover of Bartender Magazine plus a 2-page feature spread!
The Bar Boss Competition
The Bar Boss Competition, in partnership with Dos Hombres, presents a unique opportunity for contestants to shine by offering two paths to victory—through the "Critic's Pick" and the "People's Choice."

- The "Critic's Pick" will be selected by Bartender Magazine who will hand-select one “Master Mixologist” to be featured based on a custom recipe and photo presentation. Celso is working on creating an awe-inspiring cocktail and will be submitting it by next Thursday's deadline.
- The "People's Choice" is just that, OUR choice and this is where Celso needs the support of our community behind him! Each participant in the competition receives votes from their supporters and fans, who can do so for free each day or by contributing to the KIND campaign to receive more votes. The KIND campaign is an internationally recognized nonprofit organization that brings awareness and healing to the negative and lasting effects of girl-against-girl bullying through their global movement, documentary films, in-school assemblies, and educational curricula.
About Celso Lopez-Quintero
Since arriving in Phoenixville in 2017, Celso has become a familiar face behind the bars of at least seven local establishments. Currently the bar manager at The Boardroom Restaurant and Bottle Shop, formerly Paloma's, Celso's journey through Phoenixville's dining spots is noteworthy. From his early days at Bistro to lending a hand at our Irish pubs on St. Patrick's Day, his versatility and passion for bartending have made him a beloved and well-known figure in the community. Celso lives in Phoenixville with his wife and two children.
