Phoenixville's PJ Ryan's Shuts Down
The longstanding local bar, a fixture on Bridge Street for 16 years, has closed.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — PJ Ryan's, the beloved local bar on Bridge Street that has stood amidst a rapidly changing and redeveloping borough since 2008, has shut down, according to employees.
The restaurant did not elaborate on the reasons for the closure.
The news closes the latest chapter on the reign of Phoenixville's older, pre-microbrewery boom establishments. It joins The Pickering Creek and other former icons of Bridge Street in closing in recent years.

It does not appear that the closure will impact PJ Ryan's other location in Manayunk and West Chester.
The property is up for sale $3.25 million. It remains to be seen what will fill the space, though the sale listing indicates the new property owners will inherit the existing liquor license.
