Police: Traffic Stop Yields DUI, Possession Charges
A Pottstown man failed a field sobriety test, police said.

A traffic stop early Saturday morning led to D.U.I. and possession charges for the vehicle’s driver, East Pikeland Police said Tuesday morning.
Around 2 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, police said a vehicle failed to stop at a red light on Route 23 at the Shops at Valley Forge. Officers stopped the vehicle and “could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver,” police said.
Cole J. Hendersched, 31, of Pottstown failed a field sobriety test, police said, and was charged with driving under the influence. He also was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, police said.

Hendersched was released pending a hearing at a later date.
