Phoenixville Pride Fest : Noon To 5 p.m. Today

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Newly painted rainbows on the crosswalks in Phoenixville are ready just in time for the fifth annual Chester County Pride Fest from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 11, in downtown Phoenixville.

Alliance of Chester County and other community members painted the rainbows last weekend at crosswalks rainbow at Bridge Street and Church Alley.

The rainbow flag is an enduring symbol of pride and support for the LGBTQ community.

Attorney General Josh Shapiro, Democrat candidate for governor, plans to attend the Pride Fest.to stand in solidarity with LGBTQ+ Pennsylvanians.

Pride Fest features shopping, local food vendors, and live entertainment.

Throughout his career, Shapiro fought for LGBTQ+ Pennsylvanians – from helping the first LGBTQ+ couples marry in the Commonwealth to defending LGBTQ+ rights in court.

Phoenixville Mayor Peter Urschler said he is so grateful the rainbow project became a reality.

“Together, we ensure every person is safe, loved and celebrated,” the mayor said. “Our Pride crosswalks are a beautiful reflection of our community, and are a daily reminder to approach every person and situation with respect and understanding.”
