Route 23 To Close for Water Main Replacement
Allow extra time if traveling through the area, PennDOT says.
Route 23 in Schuylkill Township will close next month so Aqua Pennsylvania can replace water mains, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said Wednesday.
Route 23 will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays between Whitehorse Road and Kleyona Avenue, PennDOT said. The closure will start Wednesday, Feb. 4.
Traffic will be detoured over Whitehorse Road, Pothouse Road and Route 29, PennDOT said.

The work is weather-dependent, and motorists should allow extra time if traveling through the area, PennDOT said.
The weekday closure will be in place through Feb. 25.
