Section of Walnut Street Closed Following Vehicle Crash

A driver crashed into a utility pole Thursday afternoon and dislodged power lines, forcing the roads closure until repairs are completed.

Utility crews have been dispatched to the 200 block of Walnut Street in Phoenixville to replace a damaged utility pole, the Phoenixville Fire Department reported on its Facebook page.

Access to the section of the street has been closed until the pole is replaced and utility lines are reattached, according to the fire department.

Units responded to the scene Thursday afternoon after a driver struck a stoop, rammed into the pole, dislodging it from the ground. A photo from the scene shows the pole leaning up against a residence, surrounded by downed lines.
